Janet Gallent
Senior Vice President of Strategic and Primary Research NBC Universal
Janet Gallent is Senior Vice President of Strategic and Primary Research at NBC Universal. She and her team are responsible for conducting consumer research and exploring innovative research methods that help inform company-wide initiatives, including business development, promotions, and ad sales/marketing. Janet has been with NBC since 2000, starting as Director of Primary Research. Throughout her tenure at NBC, she has conducted research on a wide range of NBC properties, including news, sports, and entertainment for both broadcast and cable entities. Janet joined the Nielsen Council for Research Excellence (CRE) in 2011. She also represents NBC as a CTAM Research Committee member. Prior to joining NBC, Janet worked in the research departments at ABC and Conde Nast and taught graduate level courses at Columbia’s Teacher’s College. She has an undergraduate degree from Cornell University, a master’s from the University of Wisconsin and a doctorate from Columbia University.
